We’re excited to welcome Maddy Engelsman, LLMSW, to The Nelson Center for Family Therapy! Maddy joins our team with a heartfelt passion for mental health, emotional well-being, and empowering others to live more fulfilling lives.

Maddy’s journey into the world of therapy was inspired by her own transformative experience in counseling. Having personally seen the life-changing impact of therapy, she felt called to create that same healing space for others. This deep understanding shapes her client-centered, strengths-based approach — one that honors each individual’s unique story, strengths, and potential.
Maddy believes that everyone has the inner ability to envision the life they want and take meaningful steps toward it. Her work focuses on helping clients tap into that potential through collaboration, trust, and compassion. She incorporates elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness to help clients increase self-awareness, regulate emotions, and build tools for lasting change.
At the heart of Maddy’s work is a desire to help people better understand themselves and their relationships — with others and, most importantly, with themselves. She believes that improving the way we relate to ourselves can transform the way we experience the world around us. Whether someone is struggling with life transitions, emotional challenges, or seeking greater clarity and peace, Maddy is there to walk alongside them with empathy and care.
Outside of her clinical work, Maddy brings warmth and genuine curiosity to every interaction. Her goal is always to create a safe, welcoming space where clients feel seen, heard, and supported.
We’re so happy to have Maddy on our team at The Nelson Center. Her thoughtful approach, clinical insight, and deep compassion make her a valuable addition to our community.
If you’re seeking a therapist who will support you in creating meaningful change, building emotional peace, and living a life you love, Maddy is here to help.
