I am a deeply empathetic therapist who believes therapy should help you do more than survive — it should help you feel alive, connected, and present in your own life again. I work from the belief that healing is possible for everyone, especially those who have spent a long time in survival mode, feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of themselves.
I provide therapy to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families, offering a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you don’t have to hold everything together on your own. My approach is person-centered and collaborative, meaning I meet you where you are emotionally and move at a pace that feels safe and meaningful for you.
I bring experience from both outpatient therapy and crisis intervention, which allows me to support clients through a wide range of concerns — from anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, and life transitions, to moments of acute emotional distress. My background in crisis work has shaped a calm, grounding presence and a strong focus on safety, compassion, and emotional regulation during difficult moments.
At the heart of my work is empathy and genuine human connection. I understand how exhausting it can be to constantly push through life while feeling emotionally numb, stuck, or disconnected from yourself. In therapy, we work not only to reduce distress, but to reconnect you with your identity, your values, and the parts of you that may have been buried by stress, trauma, or responsibility.
My therapeutic approach is trauma-informed and strengths-based, integrating CBT, DBT-informed skills, motivational interviewing, and family systems perspectives. I help clients build coping skills, increase emotional awareness, improve communication, and create healthier patterns — while also exploring deeper themes such as boundaries, self-worth, and relationships.
I am especially passionate about helping clients move beyond “just getting through the day” and toward a life that feels more intentional, fulfilling, and alive. Therapy with me is a space to slow down, reflect, and learn how to live with more clarity, compassion, and purpose.
I am committed to ongoing clinical supervision and case consultation, ensuring ethical, thoughtful, and effective care for the clients I serve.

Sana Khan
Hello, my name is Sana and I am a Masters of Social Work graduate from Oakland University. During my undergraduate years, I studied Health Sciences at Oakland University, with a concentration in Integrative Holistic Medicine. During my overall schooling at Oakland University, I learned about various topics, such as human behavior and the social environment.
The populations I specialize in include families, children, and individuals.
I have experience making home visits and observing foster care and adoptive families. I would focus on the child's developmental milestones and the parents' interactions. I also observed parenting time with biological parent(s) and child, focusing on the interpersonal skills and bonding with the child and the parent(s).
When it comes to understanding clients, I take into consideration the entirety of the person, while considering various factors in their life.
As your therapist, I am one who is culturally competent, calm, warm, empathetic, and an active listener - giving you the space to be. In my realm of work, I utilize mindfulness, guided imagery, de-escalation, and grounding techniques. With these modalities in mind, I make sure that clients are seen, heard, and validated.

I provide a supportive, compassionate space for adolescents and adults who are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or emotionally drained. Many of the people I work with are navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, or relationship challenges, and often feel pressure to “hold it together” while struggling internally.
My approach to therapy is supportive, collaborative, and practical. I believe insight matters—but so does action. Together, we focus on building emotional awareness, strengthening coping skills, and creating realistic strategies you can actually use in your daily life. I aim to provide a space that feels safe, non-judgmental, and honest, while also gently challenging patterns that keep you stuck.
I work with adolescents who may be struggling with emotional regulation, stress, or adjusting to changes at school or home, as well as adults facing burnout, anxiety, stress, depression, or identity and purpose questions. I also enjoy supporting parents, caregivers, and helping professionals who often put others first and are learning how to care for themselves.
Therapy with me is not about judgment or quick fixes; it’s about creating safety, building insight, and helping you move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and intention.

My name is Maddy Engelsman, and I am a dedicated advocate for mental health, well-being, and overall empowerment for those I work with. Through my own experience in therapy, I have seen the positive life impacts that working with a therapist can provide. It is my goal to work alongside others who want to lead a more fulfilling life and overall sense of emotional peace. It is in this that I take a client-centered and strengths-based approach, using the uniqueness in each person and their strengths to foster positive change and outcomes. I also incorporate elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness, helping clients build awareness of their thoughts and emotions while developing tools to stay grounded and make meaningful change.
Each person has the innate ability to see the life they want, along with the ability to work toward it. It is through a comfortable, safe space that we can collaboratively find tools and strategies to fit the individual needs to achieve those goals.
I am interested in working with people who want to better understand themselves and the way in which they relate to the world around them. Our relationship with the world and the people around us is in direct relation to our relationship with ourselves. I hope to work with people who want to improve these relationships, including the one with themself, to lead a life they love every day.
