We’re excited to welcome Kelli Shepard, LLMSW, to The Nelson Center for Family Therapy. Kelli brings not only clinical expertise but also a thoughtful, down-to-earth approach that truly aligns with our mission of creating safe, supportive spaces for healing.

Kelli’s style is warm, direct, and rooted in respect for each person’s journey. She works with children, teens, adults, and couples, helping clients navigate everything from anxiety and trauma to relationship struggles and life transitions. Whether you’re a parent worried about your child, a teen who feels unheard, or an adult processing past pain, Kelli knows how to create a space that feels safe, grounded, and real.

Her work is trauma-informed and empowerment-focused, drawing from therapeutic approaches like CBT, DBT, and person-centered therapy. With children and families, Kelli uses age-appropriate strategies to build emotional regulation and communication skills, always working closely with caregivers to strengthen bonds at home.

What we especially appreciate about Kelli is her belief that therapy doesn’t have to be perfect—it just has to be honest. She knows that showing up, even when life feels heavy or confusing, is a powerful step. And while she doesn’t shy away from the hard stuff, she also believes in the value of humor when the moment is right. Because sometimes a small laugh can go a long way.

We’re grateful to have Kelli on our team and excited for the meaningful work she’ll do with clients here at The Nelson Center.

If you’re interested in working with Kelli or learning more about her approach, feel free to reach out. You don’t have to have it all figured out to start—just be willing to take that first step.
