We’re officially off to an amazing start! 🎉 This past week marked a special milestone for The Nelson Center for Family Therapy—our very first team Meet & Greet and Orientation! It was such a joy to gather in person, introduce new faces, share our mission, and lay the foundation for what we hope will be a supportive, impactful, and inspiring environment for both our team and the clients we serve.

The evening began with a warm office tour, giving everyone a chance to get familiar with the space where the healing happens. We also took time to walk through the basics of working as a 1099 contractor, what to expect during supervision, and how we handle first appointments. The atmosphere was filled with curiosity, good energy, and a shared sense of purpose.

After the orientation, we headed out for a lovely dinner at Stella’s Table, where conversation flowed as easily as the laughter. It was the perfect setting to relax, connect, and build new relationships. Joining us were our new team members—Bonika Singleton, Shaquala Phillips, Brianna Fox, and Kelli Shepard—each bringing unique gifts, passion, and fresh perspectives to the center. We’re excited to have such a talented group joining The Nelson Center family!

And the growth doesn’t stop there! We’re thrilled to welcome another incredible team member soon—Maddy! 🎉 We’re also excited to introduce Davita, who is joining us as an intern. We’re so glad to have both of them on board and can’t wait to see the impact they’ll make.

One of the highlights of the evening was revisiting our Mission Statement, which continues to guide everything we do:

“Our mission is to walk alongside individuals and families on their path to healing, growth, and self-discovery. We believe that change is a journey—one that unfolds uniquely for each person. We are dedicated to a client-centered approach that honors each individual’s innate strengths, wisdom, and potential. Our therapists work collaboratively with clients to identify their goals, navigate challenges, and manifest their deeper sense of purpose, fostering lasting transformation in their lives and relationships.”

At the heart of our work is a commitment to diversity and inclusion, ensuring every client and team member feels seen, heard, and valued.

This evening was more than just a meet and greet—it was a moment of alignment, intention, and excitement for what’s to come. I’m so proud of this team and can’t wait to see the lives we’ll touch together.

Here’s to new beginnings, meaningful connections, and walking the journey—together. 💙
