We are thrilled to introduce the newest member of our team, Bonika Singleton, a dedicated therapist who brings over 15 years of experience in social work to The Nelson Center for Family Therapy. Her journey has been one fueled by compassion, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to empowering others—qualities that make her a perfect fit for our mission.

A Heart for Community
Bonika, a proud Detroit native and mother of four, has worked with a variety of communities, from children to the elderly, and marginalized groups to families navigating complex challenges. Throughout her career, she has become a trusted resource for those in need, offering guidance, support, and a safe space to heal.
Her passion for helping others has led her to specialize in Infant Mental Health and Family Systems, with the goal of making lasting, positive changes in the lives of those she serves. Bonika’s work focuses not just on the individual, but on the broader context—the environment and relationships that shape one's well-being. It’s a holistic approach that truly sets her apart, and we couldn’t be more excited to have her with us.

And with her Psychoanalytic Social Work Practice certification, she brings a nuanced, in-depth approach to therapy that allows clients to truly understand and address the roots of their struggles.
Looking to the Future
Bonika isn’t just excited about the work she’s doing today—she’s also passionate about making an impact tomorrow. As she continues to develop in her field, she’s committed to advocating for policy changes that better support vulnerable populations and developing community-based programs that empower individuals to thrive.
